SKLPCC was formed in 1985 by a handful of very keen, passionate and enthusiastic members of the SKLP community. The primary aim of the club since its inception has always been to nurture the untapped raw talent that obviously exists in the community.
The early years, like anything new was a bit of a struggle as most of us were just going or coming out of higher education and such had no money to talk about. Nobody had their own kit in those days and we carried a large leather bag with 4pairs of pads, 2 sets of stumps, wicket keeping gloves and a small score board.
As a condition of the league we wanted to join, they required us to play friendlies, which we did with great success. We joined the Middlesex Premier league for 4 seasons and were always in the running for the championship. In 1992 we joined the Middlesex County Premier League. We started in the lowest division and each year we gained promotion to the next.
The mid-nineties was the beginning of the real success for this club and for the next 7 years we the club attracted better players from our community and our squad began to strengthen resulting in several division 1 title.
In 2002, we took a bold step of moving from a 40 over Sunday cricket to Saturday timed cricket, where we felt real progress would be made in developing our youngsters. It is at this moment club moved to its existing location at Shree Kutch Leva Patel Community Centre, Northolt and established the colts academy.
Again this new spell in the clubs history was hard work for the club members but the rewards can be seen today with outstanding facilities and development of the colt’s academy. The club has taken huge leaps forward in its short history gaining Clubmark Accreditation from the ECB as well as supporting a thriving colt’s academy.
